As we scale the number of teams and their sizes, bringing an experienced VP, Engineering to take processes, resources allocation, delivery and communication to the next level is critical to PandaDoc’s success.

You'll hire and mentor the next set of engineering leaders to continue scaling PandaDoc. You’ll inspire the teams and lead by example. You’ll set ambitious goals, foster communication, and give people freedom to do their best work. You’ll grow not only the product and the business, but also people careers.

As VP of Engineering, you'll also be responsible for the technology - building a reliable, scalable, secure and highly performant platform and application. You'll ensure our architecture is flexible and scalable to allow for our rapid growth into new business lines and will not become a roadblock for new functionality and product lines.  You'll consistently communicate and deliver to commitments and increase the velocity of our teams by removing roadblocks and inefficiencies.

This is a strategic role that requires strong partnership with other functions across the company. You'll build a strong long-term technology strategy that aligns with company strategic plan and influences the overall company direction. You'll drive accountability and metrics ownership to translate strategy into results. And you'll align and inspire your organization by effectively communicating and engaging the team in the strategy.


In this role you will:

  • Own engineering processes, delivery and collaboration among multiple engineering teams;

  • Manage performance and growth of engineering team leaders;

  • Help shape and translate the company priorities into a clear and actionable engineering roadmap, balanced with tech debt and other engineering priorities;

  • Collaborate with a leadership team to align engineering with the company strategy;

  • Recruit and build the future of the engineering team;

  • Internally promote and train promising leaders on the team;

  • Continuously work to improve process and workflow, in engineering, and cross-functionally;

  • Promote the PandaDoc Engineering brand in the greater community (eg host events, contribute to open source, encourage teammates to speak at conferences);

  • Manage R&D P&L.


About you:

  • You have 10+ years in engineering; with 5+ in management positions;

  • You have managed teams of 60+ engineers;

  • You’ve recruited, grown and leveled up an engineering team, including training and mentoring new managers and tech leads;

  • You hold strong interpersonal and communication skills;

  • You are experienced in SaaS companies and the B2B space;

  • You have managed products with multiple product lines;

  • You have excellent communication and people skills;

  • You’re process-driven and have a successful track record of instrumenting operations within large-scale engineering departments.
