How to automate your daily deal briefing so you always know where your pipeline stands
An automated deal briefing is a plain-language summary of your sales pipeline, so it will tell you which proposals are open, which are stalled, and which are closing. It’s generated automatically from your document data rather than compiled manually. Connecting PandaDoc to Claude produces this summary in seconds, once per day, without any manual checking.
If you manage a pipeline, the typical ritual goes something like this: you open the CRM, check PandaDoc, scan Slack, and maybe skim an inbox for good measure, trying to piece together deal status from various places. Fifteen minutes later you have a picture of where things stand, but it’s already stale by then.
This recipe will show you how to replace that ritual with a single Claude conversation.
Is your morning deal check taking more time than it should?
You're a strong fit if:
You're tracking 10+ active deals at once and can't hold all the statuses in your head
Your proposals and contracts live consistently in PandaDoc
You start most days checking multiple tools just to answer "what's happening in my pipeline?"
You've been surprised by a stalled deal that quietly went cold for two weeks
Consider alternatives if:
Your deal documents are scattered across email, shared drives, and PandaDoc, since the briefing is only as good as the data behind it
You need real-time alerts the moment something happens, rather than a daily summary
You're only tracking one or two deals at a time and a quick manual check is probably faster than setup

What your automated deal briefing can tell you
Connecting PandaDoc to Claude gives sales managers a plain-language summary of pipeline status every morning, including open proposals, stalled deals, and upcoming closes. This is provided without logging into a single additional tool.
The daily briefing will vary based on what’s in your PandaDoc workspace, but it can answer questions like:
Which proposals have been open for more than X days without being signed?
Which deals are expected to close this week?
Which contracts have gone quiet since the last check?
Are there any proposals that haven't been opened yet?
What's the total value of documents currently out for signature?
These are just some examples, as the briefing will surface information relevant to your actual workspace. The richer your document library, the richer the briefing. This feature works best when proposals and contracts are consistently stored in PandaDoc and are not scattered across email or shared drives.
How to set up your daily deal briefing
Step 1: Connect PandaDoc to Claude
Open Claude (claude.ai) and navigate to the connectors section, then find PandaDoc in the Claude connector directory and authorize the connection. This will grant Claude read access to your PandaDoc workspace, including proposals, contracts, document status, and metadata. This requires a Claude Teams or Pro account.
Once you’re connected, the connector persists across future conversations, so you only have to do this once. If you’ve already set this up to search your contract library using Claude, you can skip this step since the connector is the same.

Step 2: Set up a Claude Project for your daily briefing
This step is key for making the briefing daily and consistent instead of a one-off query.
Create a new Claude Project, which is available on Teams and Pro plans. In the Project’s system prompt or instructions, tell Claude exactly what you want it to do each time you open a conversation. This might be to pull the latest deal data from PandaDoc and summarize what’s open, stalled, and closing.
A Claude Project remembers these instructions across every conversation, so each morning you can open the project and Claude already knows what to do.
Here’s an example of a system prompt that you can copy and adapt:
"Each time I start a conversation, check my PandaDoc workspace and give me a plain-language summary of: (1) proposals that have been open for more than 5 days without being signed, (2) documents expected to close this week, (3) any proposals that haven't been viewed yet. Format as a short bullet list."
Setup takes about five minutes, and just once. After that, the daily briefing is a single open conversation.
Step 3: Open your briefing each morning
This is what your actual daily workflow will look like: Each morning, open the Claude Project. Claude will automatically query PandaDoc and produce the briefing based on the instructions you set in Step 2.
From there, you can ask follow-up questions in the same conversation. The briefing is just a starting point, not a fixed report. It’s a conversation.
Try asking questions like:
"Which rep has the most proposals currently open?"
"What's the total value of proposals sent this week?"
"Has [Company Name] opened their proposal yet?"
"Which proposals are closest to their deadline?"
Step 4: Act on what you find
Your workflow doesn’t end with the summary. From the briefing, you can open specific proposals or contracts directly in PandaDoc to take actions like sending a follow-up, checking engagement data, or reassigning a stalled deal.
If you want to track individual proposals to see when the prospect last opened it or which pages they spent time on, you can check out our recipe on proposal tracking. For contracts that are close to renewal, see contract renewal reminders.
Remember that the briefing is an entry point so you can take action where it matters.
What changes when you automate your pipeline
Automating your pipeline means that the morning status check stops being a 15-minute ritual and becomes a 60-second conversation. You can stop chasing reps for deal updates because the state of your pipeline is visible all in one place.
Plus, stalled deals will automatically surface instead of being discovered by accident two weeks later, when it might already be too late to salvage.
The briefing becomes a natural anchor for the morning standup or as the first Slack message of the day. It’s something that’s concrete you can react to instead of staring at a blank page.
